Krypton Series 2 Lock
It seems to be a solid lock but my only comment is that the attach mount is not a good design- cannot use it on my bike so have to carry lock in my backpack...very heavey!

I must admit I read in other reviews that the lock mechanism on this chain did get stuck, but I just thought that might have been a one off experience. Unfortunately, I had the same experience where the chain's mechanism in as little as a month began to cause me trouble, and within a few days simply seezed up and wouldn't unlock or lock.
I contacted the seller and must say they were very professional and took back the item and offered to replace or refund it. Not happy with the item, but extreemly happy with the seller Ghostbikes.

Great Lock
It is easy to carry, even without the bracket, light but tough, easy to change the combination, water resistant ( kept in the rain and no problem) and neat. The only con is that it is not too long for more than one bike.

Plasticky; and Failed
I bought two of these to secure a building site; so one of the two was used most week days.
After eighteen months, they were both hard to use: the plastic dials were very high-friction. Now the push-together case of one of the locks has come apart, so they will both be replaced.
They looked fine on day-one, but fifty openings and closings is fairly poor for their premium price. The dials really need to be metal or some hard plastic: the transparent plastic is used for the light function -- which is handy -- but means the lock itself won't last.
Cannot recommend.

strong and heavy
Works well so far (touch wood!). It's strong and solid and quite heavy. I haven't bothered with the bit that will attach it to the frame as I use my own technique of carrying a lock (around the seat-post with the heavy end secured to the rack with bungee cord). Would recommend this lock as it is slightly longer than your average D lock.

Chunky
A very well made lock, it feels heavy & strong. It's 'Sold Safe' rated, which is the stamp of approval from the insurance industry.

This particular model is quite large and so only just fits inside the frame of my bike & I'm 5 foot 11 (1.80m) so if you are short, or have a small bike, you'd be better off with a smaller lock. Fortunately Magnum do make a smaller version.

There are cheaper locks, but it's unlikely they'd be as strong as this one.

Recommended.

Item arrived quickly and was as expected. Not the most secure but small enough to carry around OK. All round pretty good for the price

Some design failures and no response re: dud batteries
I've bought this Kryptoflex cable lock and a Kryptonite mini U Lock.
I've very satisfied with the U Lock, less so with this cable lock. The rotating cover to the keyhole is difficult to turn, luckily I'm not an arthritic pensioner.
I've reported that one of the button batteries was dud the other low, but I've had no response via Amazon.
The locating mechanism for securing the lock to the bracket needs a bit more thought - it could so easily have been made much easier to use.

Nice and Sturdy... apart from the plastic!
Really pleased with this chain - nice and solid, good quality welding (on mine at least) with the very visual bright green cover.

Only thing I don't really like is the lock itself is coated in plastic (not rubber as I thought) - I dropped the chain on the floor from about 1ft and the plastic that surrounds the lock has now got a large crack in it. Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for this!

Tough Compact Lock - Bronze Rated
Having recently had my bike stolen and purchased a replacement a good lock was high on my agenda to secure my new purchase.

I heard many good things about the Kryptonite Mini 7 lock so purchase one of them but while it is a good, strong lock. I found it a bit of a pain to carry as it was too big to mount on my frame.

I doscovered the bordo line of Abus locks and they sounded like just the ticket. As flexible (ish) as chain locks but as tough as D Locks.

The lock is a good size, easy enough to get it round the frame, rear wheel and a fixed mount. Folds up in to a nice compact size which you can mount on the frame in its rubber holder.

The bars are covered in hard rubber to protect your frame as well.

When reading up on this lock I discovered that ABUS had released a sold secure silver rated version of the lock which I thought this one was. Sadly this lock is rated at bronze, as confirmed by the packaging.

Overall, really...

Good solid lock
Good solid lock folds down to an nice compact unit. The only down side is its somewhat heavy to carry around, but this is also a reassuring element to this lock!

Had to return it
Lock is sturdy, slightly longer than most so it fits well around stand/wheel/frame, and I used the cable to attach the back wheel. However, after 2 weeks of mild use, the key began sticking. I spent 15 minutes trying to unlock it one day, went back inside to get the remaining keys in case it was a key issue, and spent another 5 wrestling with it. After finally getting it open, I peered inside and saw that the key mechanism slots weren't aligned exactly and were loose. Had to return it. Not sure if I just got a lemon, but I'm not willing to risk having a locked up bike far from home, or a bike unable to be locked up. I ordered a different one.

Good strong lock, but with a fatal flaw
I purchased this lock in October 2010 at a very good price. All was well until March 2011 when the key became stuck in the lock and eventually sheared off while I attempted to remove the key. It was lucky that the key sheared while I was unlocking it in preparation of locking the bike to a metal railing, as if it had happened when trying to unlock my bike from the railing, I would have been stranded over 20 miles from home.

After this happened, I read some of the reviews of this product on Amazon and found that I was not the only person to suffer from this problem. Therefore I can only deduce that it is either a design or manufacturing defect and I have submitted a claim under the Consumer Protection Act of 1987.

My rating can only be the lowest possible due to this problem.

Unparalled security
Great lock, though can be a bit fidgety to lock at times, but to be honest it's going to stop all but the most determined thief - there are reviews elsewhere stating how this was the only lock to survive attacks by an angle grinder! My sole criticism of the product is it's weight - this is one seriously heavy bit of iron to carry around with you!
