Nice and Sturdy... apart from the plastic!
Really pleased with this chain - nice and solid, good quality welding (on mine at least) with the very visual bright green cover.

Only thing I don't really like is the lock itself is coated in plastic (not rubber as I thought) - I dropped the chain on the floor from about 1ft and the plastic that surrounds the lock has now got a large crack in it. Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for this!

the master strret cuff is the best lock that i have seen. i have a recumbent bike which has a straight frame that you can not use a normal lock with. the master street cuff solves this problem. its very strong and i can`t see anybody getting it off easily.

Tough Compact Lock - Bronze Rated
Having recently had my bike stolen and purchased a replacement a good lock was high on my agenda to secure my new purchase.

I heard many good things about the Kryptonite Mini 7 lock so purchase one of them but while it is a good, strong lock. I found it a bit of a pain to carry as it was too big to mount on my frame.

I doscovered the bordo line of Abus locks and they sounded like just the ticket. As flexible (ish) as chain locks but as tough as D Locks.

The lock is a good size, easy enough to get it round the frame, rear wheel and a fixed mount. Folds up in to a nice compact size which you can mount on the frame in its rubber holder.

The bars are covered in hard rubber to protect your frame as well.

When reading up on this lock I discovered that ABUS had released a sold secure silver rated version of the lock which I thought this one was. Sadly this lock is rated at bronze, as confirmed by the packaging.

Overall, really...

Good solid lock
Good solid lock folds down to an nice compact unit. The only down side is its somewhat heavy to carry around, but this is also a reassuring element to this lock!

Pass on stealing my bike!
I use the Kryptonite KyrptoChain & Padlock to secure my cycle. After having my previous cycle stolen after 2 locks were cut through. I decided that I needed something pretty robust to secure through the frame & one of the wheels. This is a heafty chain with a protective sleeve which prevents scratches to my cycle. The Lock is a secure turn anti-force padlock. It visually gives the message for any thief to pass on stealing my bike. I combine it with a gold sold secure D Lock and an additional cable. So it would make it very difficult for any would-be crook to get my bike easily.
My only downside to this is the short length, so not ideal as the main lock, but great as part of a system or secondary lock. Kryptonite KryptoChain & Padlock (2 ft 3 in / 70 cm)

This chain failed the test.
I had my R1 stolen whilst it was chained in central london bike park bay to a ground anchor. The chain was cut, and by the evidence of the cut links left behind, it wasn't much of a problem. There may be tougher chains out there I don't know, but don't count on this one to beat a determined thief.

very solid
Well, it could be one star if my bike is nicked. However this weighty, hexagonal chain appears to be the bee's knees according to the other reviews I have seen and I can believe it. The locking mechanism and chain are as solid as hell and the lock has a proper key. Yes, it weighs a lot (2.7 kilos or 6 pounds) but sling it in your rucksack and it isn't that noticeable. Probably on a long ride it might be more of a problem but if you are not going to let your bike out of your sight then you wouldn't be taking it anyway. For those like me who have to leave their bike at the station each day it gives one belief that the bike will still be there when getting back. By the way 110 cm may seem quite long but the length includes the locking mechanism so there isn't a lot of spare.

Secure and solid lock
This is a pretty hefty lock which can make a little difficult to handle sometimes, however it is meant to be a heavy duty high security item and is very solid. The shear appearance is likely to put off all but the most determined thieves.

The sheath on the chain helps prevent any scratching, the lock barrel has a dust cover to keep the dust and dirt out plus the illuminating key can be useful for locating the key in the lock barrel in low light.

Does the job it says
Plain and simple, whilst this is an expensive lock it does exactly wht you expect it to. Very heavy and very robust. Well worth the investment if you have expensive cycles to secure. I use this to secure 2 of my bikes inside my garage. This is not a lock I would consider carrying with me if I was out on my bike, it weighs nigh on the same as my bike!!!!
