What a cheap way to upgrade your mountain bike.
I bought a brand new mountain bike last year and have been using it every week since then averaging around 75 miles a week. Of late I've noticed (Couldn't help but notice) the back wheel dropping out when I've picked up the bike at the end of the run in which to lift it onto the pavement outside my home. Now the quick release skewers that came with the bike looked the part and I always ensured they were tight prior to the ride and halfway round. However what I hadn't noticed was that the front and back ones were different and that the acorn (the nut) on the rear one was made of plastic and wasn't gripping as it should be. Hence the wheel drop-out.

Not having a scooby do about quick release skewers I went on an internet crash course on what they do, what I should be looking for and how much I should expect to pay for a decent set.
