Sore back using Boardman stem that came with my hybrid comp bike as I'm not used to this -to me very low and forward arm- riding position but I can see why it is desirable for these fast bikes as wind resistance becomes the main limiting factor but now with this Ritchey stem I can actually begin to ride the bike and begin to see how amazing it is.

It lifted the handlebars about 2cm up and the same back when set at it's 45deg max angle although I think I would have liked a little more adjustment but I think I will get used to this and at least now my back does not hurt.

Stem is very sturdy and tidy and I had no thread ringing problems. Doesn't look as good as the original Boardman stem and is about twice the weight.

I've seen some reviews complaining about no instructions. Mine had them but frankly if you can't work out how to put this on then maybe you shouldn't really be on the road?
