We have already done the research and spent much of time to get the most favorable price for you. When you still in doubt, you may see anything they say about CATEYE TL-LD1100 Rear LED Light (inc. batteries).

Bright and multiple purpose
I bought this product 1 week ago and I'm using it as an commuter. Even during the daytime I use this backlight - and I do believe I even noticed a change in behaviour from the car-drivers, since this light draws the attention of anybody driving up to you from behind or the side.

Now to the facts:
- It runs on 2 AA's. The lifetime of the batteries I couldn't confirm yet, but seems to be exremely long.
- You open the whole apparatus by a twist cap on the side. At least it feels sturdy enough to withstand the use and to validate the claimed of water-resistance. No hassle here.
- It comes with different options to attach it to various tube diameters and there is even a belt clip option enclosed. Nice!
- The ring to attach the light to the seatpost is hold togehter by a screw. I read about incidents where people complained about loosing the light. So I paid extra attention to fasten it tightly. Nevertheless after about 100k's it is loose - not lost though...

Tiger, tiger, burning bright
The LD1100 is a barrel-type rear bike light around 9 cm wide with two lines of three rear-facing LEDs and a single LED at each end. Each line of lights has its own independent power button so you can either use both lines at the same time or just use one if you're in the mood to conserve battery power. Once turned on, a press of either button will scroll through the various output modes for that line - flashing, constant on, side to side and random - although given the UK laws on lights, it might be wise to stick to constant output when on public roads.

As far as the output itself is concerned, the LEDs are very bright whilst the design of the LD1100's reflector tube helps to concentrate the light from each one in to quite a sharp focus. I have no doubt that, regardless of which output mode you use, other road users would have no difficulty spotting you. The light's increased output probably influenced the designers' decision to make the LD1100 take 2 AA batteries rather...
