The wrapping finally came off this morning, and we're out and about on the road. Our 6 (nearly 7) year old loves this, in spite of the fact that it's supposed to be for over 8s.

It's a heavy old beast, meaning that smaller children will require help from an adult to lift it around, but once it's on level ground, it's easy enough to balance and get mobile with.

You need to scoot it up to speed before the power will engage, which must throw some customers, considering the number of warnings to this effect that are plastered all over the scooter and the packaging. In fact, the thing seems to be liberally covered with warnings of one kind or another, but most of them just seem to impart common sense.

The low weight limit means that, theoretically, this one's for the kids only. Lighter adults might not exceed the limit by much, but heavier framed ones probably shouldn't really take it for a spin. Still, if you happen to be 15 stone plus and decide you can't...

Bought this for our son's Christmas hoping it to be as good as the adverts say. It's actually far better than this and our son enjoys endless trips out on it. Once charged the battery lasts for well over an hour and the sparks never fail to dissapoint. Bought 2 replacement cartridges thinking they wouldn't last 2 minutes and havent had to change one yet. Definatley THE best gadget out there at the moment! A*
