Bright lights for city
Bought these as upgrade to cheaper cateye products, which have been very reliable. Much brighter than previous lights. Easy to fit to bike and pretty low weight.Front light beam is very visible to motorists and will illuminate darker areas e.g. garage.
One quibble with rear light is that switching the lights on/off seems bit random.

Very bright and very very tough
These are very easy to fit and are very bright indeed.

The front light creates a wide conical beam with an extra bright bit in the middle.

The rear light has 4 sequences including constantly on, strobbing and flashing. There are also LEDs on the sides so that cars coming out of turnings etc can see you.

But what most impressed me was that 2 days after fitting them the front light came off (my fault - I hadn't fitted it properly) when I was shooting down a hill at about 25mph. It went skidding along the road for about 30 feet but even after taking this pounding it was completely fine. I was amazed and relieved in equal measure.

A great set of lights and unquestionably tough.

As usual it has Philips tested by design, at it is brill, but expensive.
pros,
1)bright red glowing ring, you will be seen, even in daylight.
2)would not agree with the 270 degree range, but the light is not direct it reflects throu the reflector surround, so if a car light hits it and the angle it will shine bright back also, making it better than a reflector.
3)has two clips which are plastic but have metal springs, to quick release of the included 80mm<->50mm holder.
4)the on/off button and clips release are on the bottom (not seen in photos, or philips photos), so water can not seep throu.
5)has the strict German "z" standard road approval. higher than (BS) British Standard, see Wiki.
so unlike other lights, this light is classed as a LAMP not a SAFETY LIGHT, a such would conform to be approved rear light for road use by any UK-EU, AUS-NZ, US Police.
6) Available in dynamo version also. make sure you order is for battery (2xAAA) or dynamo version.

The light itself is really great, another quality Philips product but be warned this will not attach to your back unless you use a touring bracket, if you want to use it without one you have to go and order another product which is really hard to find from different website!

I'm very happy with the product now but it was a real hard to get working and fitted on my bike.

great light... until it falls off
This is a great light, really bright, visible from a wide angle it has a long battery life, good weight. Shame then that it has a tendency to escape the mount mid-ride. I've had 2 of these lights, both have gone flying from a bump in the road after a few months of use. When you find the peices, the light itself survives, however the lighter battery cover will have popped off, the batteries gone and inevitably something will have been run over. I've two lights recovered from escaping, in both cases the cover was destroyed by cars. Such a good light completel ruined by a mounting that just isn't up to the job. A
