The cast iron base has 2 foldable steel foot beds for added stability and purchase when the pressures increase. The dual valve head can accommodate both Schrader and presta valves. The pressure gauge shows both BAR & P.S.I. and has a handy rotating pointer as a reminder of your desired setting.

Robust and easy to set up
I put this together by head-torch in my shed on Christmas eve night and it was put to immeduiate use by my 6 year old Christmas morning. I needed a bike that was both robust enough for the Glen where I live but cheap enough as this first 'proper' bike will get used and abused until he grows out of it. So far, this bike has hit the mark.

Not quite as good as I'd hoped
We bought this for our 6 year old daughter (she's a tomboy...a pink bike won't cut it), her first bike since being a toddler. I decided to get her a 6-speed bike as we live in quite a hilly area and I remember how my son struggled while learning on his BMX years ago. It put him off cycling, too much graft, no fun. First signs are good: bike looks great, is the correct size, all parts are present and it is nicely packaged. I soon discovered a problem though. The spanner provided is hopeless, it is bad on the fingers and is inadequate for the tasks. I used my own adjustable spanner so it wasn't too bad. But you really need a socket set to get the bolts tight enough on the saddle. I put my full weight into tightening the nut on the seat post with my adjustable spanner, and I am a big lad, and the saddle still moves. We also had a hard time getting the bike to go into first gear( for little legs!), but it did eventually, almost by accident. Still, not too bad a bike, although I definitely...
