Better late than never purchase for tight as the poverbials ducks posterior Yorkshire man.
Having put up with an inferior Halfords light set all winter ( classed when I bought it as part of a cycle to work scheme as "super bright "-which is a bit like classing the cast of TOWIE as super bright , though in a different context obviously ) an incident last week finally convinced me to cease being such an archetypal Yorkshire man and splash some serious cash on a decent bike light.
Travelling on a busy B road on my early morning cycle commute I suddenly hit a section hit by a major power cut and was plunged into terrifying blackness , on which my feeble front lights made hardly any impression . It was bloody scary let me tell you with all the cars whizzing by missing me by inches ( or so it felt ) and having carefully negotiated a long section of unlit canal towpath on the way to and from work all winter , including one occasion where I became so disorientated that I cycled off the path into the woods , this was the last straw.

Brilliant light, terrible bracket
Amazingly bright, long lasting light that simply stomps on all the previous lights I've owned. On full power it's much brighter than a car headlamp and lights up the whole road. I often find drivers often give you much more room when it's on.
However the whole package is let down by the bracket - which is awful. So much so that trying to adjust my light soon after I had bought it caused it to slide out of its fixing and onto the road in front of me!! I even rode over it. The horror. The body of the light is aluminium so whilst it is strong it is also soft (if you see what I mean) and a fall like this will tear chunks out of it. The light still works perfectly, but it looks like it's been in the wars. Which given the cost, is a shame.
